Victory Gardens Lex is a people powered grassroots movement to grow community gardens in Lexington and the region.
Change begins at the most local of levels and the revolution of love must begin with how we care for and tend to the land, our communities, our spirits, and our bodies.
We are growing several community gardens this year on privately or community owned land. In addition to community members backyards, we will have community gardens at Total Grace Baptist Church on North Limestone and the historic Phyllis Wheatley Center on Chestnut.
We are currently working to convert barrels donated by Ale-8 into rain barrels for use at our community garden spaces.

In partnership with Ampersand of the Bluegrass, we will offer a series of upcoming workshops in May and June on how to begin and tend to your own personal or community garden space.
We can work with you or your organization to sponsor a space or assist with reclaiming land for gardening and growing.
We will be working with a local family in Jimtown to establish a community family garden this year.
Ampersand of the Bluegrass will be sponsoring our community garden located at Total Grace Baptist Church for the 2021 growing season.
“Collective black self recovery takes place when we begin to renew our relationship to the earth, when we remember the ways of our ancestors. When the earth is sacred to us, our bodies can also be sacred to us.”
